Karate instructor arrested, accused of soliciting sex with a minor

A female Karate instructor at the Next-Gen Martial Arts School has been arrested last week following accusations from a mother of one of her minor-aged students that she had sent sexual messages to her 11-year-old boy.

Stephannie Figueroa, 21, was arrested last June 16th; just a day after the parent stepped forward and informed the police of her supposed violations.

The 11-year-old’s mother said that she found out about Figueroa’s intentions when she incidentally saw the messages on her son’s phone by way of an application called Kik. She accuses Figueroa of sending lewd and sexually charged messages that were evidently made to excite the minor.

At one point, she said Figueroa told her boy that she can’t wait for another sleepover, so she can have sex with him in a hard way. The boy replied, “OK, IDC” (I don’t care).

The boy admitted that indeed Stephannie Figueroa had sent him messages since February. He also said that she had flirted with hem and invited him to her 21st birthday since nobody would be at home, and said: “I want to have sex with you.”

Reports say that her sexual advances started through text messages, afterward, she would send him nude or partially nude photos of her body. She has sent around fifteen nude images, which the mother says she found on June 15.

At one time, while they were alone, the boy claims that she slid her hand on his thigh, but he asked her to stop and she did.

Stephannie Figueroa is currently on bail. She faces charges of attempted lewd or lascivious conduct, solicitation and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, showing a minor obscene material, and child abuse.

The owner of the Next-Gen Xtreme Martial Arts School in Orlando, who refuses to be named, denies all these accusations and says they are untrue. Family and friends of the instructor believe this is all a frame-up, and that they are confident the charges will be dismissed.
