Jon Jones is the ideal brother. The former UFC champion is happy that the New England Patriots have traded his brother Chandler Jones to the Arizona Cardinals, reports FOX Sports.
The Cardinals have acquired Chandler Jones in a blockbuster trade while offensive guard Jonathan Cooper was sent to the Patriots.
Showing his love and support for his brother, Jon Jones tweeted: “Congratulations to my lil brother @Chan95Jones for getting traded to the #ArizonaCardinals. Only a one hour flight away‼️ I’m so excited.”
The Jones brothers — along with older brother Arthur, who plays for the Indianapolis Colts — are often seen supporting each other at games and/or fights. And with Chandler now relocating to Arizona, it looks like he will get plenty of support from Jon.
Meanwhile, Jon Jones is sober now and ready for his next UFC 197 fight. Jon is all set to fight Daniel Cormier at UFC 197 just six weeks from now. This will be his first fight after he was suspended following a hit-and-run case in April last year. Following the incident, Jones was stripped of his UFC light heavyweight title and was suspended by UFC.
“Everyone’s life, we’re all on different journeys. Some people mature faster than others. Sometimes it takes people a few more mistakes to realize what they have and what they’re messing up. For me I felt this last situation brought me to my knees,” Jones said at the “UFC Unstoppable” press conference, reports FOX Sports.
“I lost respect nationwide. I lost my endorsements. I lost my job. I lost so much and for me this was rock bottom,” he added.
He also said that he is more than sober now after the incident and is feeling amazing and rejuvenated. In fact, he says that he has given up alcohol, marijuana and other substances.
Jones is scheduled to fight Cormier on April 23.
