NFL Draft Rumors: Dallas Cowboys sticking with No. 4 pick, targeting DE Joey Bosa

For the first time in 25 years, the Dallas Cowboys are picking a high No. 4 in the NFL Draft and reports say that the Jerry Jones-owned team is likely to keep the pick and will not be targeting a quarterback or running back, according to reports.

According to ESPN, former Ohio State Buckeyes defensive end Joey Bosa will be one of the top targets for the Cowboys despite his off-the-field issues during college.

“[Joey Bosa’s] character issue would not be a factor in us drafting him,” the outspoken and passionate Cowboys owner said in the report.

“In the right situation there on the board, we could pick a quarterback down from those first two that are logically thought to be picked early,” Jones added when asked about picking a quarterback in the draft.

The St. Louis Rams and Philadelphia Eagles pick first and second, respectively in the draft which starts in two days. They are expected to pick top QB prospects Jared Goff from Cal and Carson Wentz from North Dakota leaving teams like the Cowboys to look for other options.

The San Diego Chargers pick third, Cowboys fourth and the Jacksonville Jaguars pick fifth.

From the ESPN NFL mock draft, DeForest Buckner (DE from Oregon), Jaley Ramsey (CB from Florida State) and Myles Jack (LB from UCLA) go from three to five. From the league’s official website, some NFL analysts has Joey Bosa going as high as fourth to Dallas and fifth to the Jaguars.

Actual order of the players will only be known come draft time and NFL draft rumors are expected to dominate the NFL headlines the next two days.
