Colin Kaepernick is yet to find a new NFL team since being released by the San Francisco 49ers. According to the latest report, US President Donald Trump’s recent remarks about Kaepernick becomes one of the major reasons why teams aren’t interested in adding him to their team.

Colin Kaepernick entered the 2016 NFL season competing for the starting role against Blaine Gabbert. After series of ups and downs, the 49ers decided to demote him to the bench and declared Gabber as their starting quarterback. Earlier this month, Kaepernick opted out of his contract and becomes a free agent.

As of now, Kaepernick remains unsigned and is currently struggling to find another team. He may no longer be in his prime, but he still has something left in his tank. However, Kaepernick’s’ decision to speak against police brutality and racial discrimination contributed to his inability to find a new team.

Fear of Trump prevents Colin Kaepernick from finding new team

According to Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report, an AFC general manager revealed that an NFL team feared a backlash from fans and Trump’s supporters if they sign Kaepernick. Last season, US President Donald Trump made it clear that he doesn’t approve of Kaepernick’s protest.

A handful of executives also told Freeman that they see Kaepernick as an “embarrassment of football.” They believed the interest in him, for now, is slim. During a rally in the Bluegrass State, Trump addressed the report Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman wrote about Kaepernick.

“Your San Francisco quarterback, I’m sure nobody ever heard of him,” Trump begins. “…There was an article today, it’s reported, that NFL owners don’t want to pick him up because they don’t want to get a nasty tweet from Donald Trump. Can you believe that?”

Kaepernick gives powerful answer to Trump

US President Donald Trump described Kaepernick’s action as “terrible thing” and urged him to find a country that works better for him. Kaepernick hasn’t given any response regarding Trump’s comment. While waiting for a job, he continues to donate to charity.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, Colin Kaepernick gave $50,000 to Meals on Wheels. The charity provides food for senior citizens in need. They would be greatly affected if Trump’s budget proposal is approved. Kaepernick also donated another $50,000 to #LoveArmyForSomalia campaign.

It aims to help people in desperate need of food and water. Kaepernick’s protests may really have affected his ability to find a new team. However, his recent actions proved to be the best response to Trump’s criticisms.
