Cristiano Ronaldo single-handedly carried the Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals with a hat-trick, defeating Wolfsburg 3-0 on Tuesday.
Before the game, Real Madrid faced a huge problem having a 2-0 deficit after their loss in the first leg in Germany, but Ronaldo’s determination and incredible football skills led them to win the game.
In the first half of the game, Real Madrid star gave the team a two-goal lead to tie with Wolfsburg. As the ball hit the net, Ronaldo raced to the corner, celebrating a dramatic comeback. It wasn’t over yet, but Madrid was so close and for the first time in more than two-and-a-half hours of football, they were in front on aggregate. The whole crowd rejoiced upon witnessing to incredible strike released by Ronaldo.
Wolfsburg did not let the game be decided by the first two goals as they made several attempts to regain the lead. With 13 minutes left in the game, Cristiano Ronaldo established his third goal of the game by releasing a sublime free-kick to complete his hat-trick and win the game.
“It had to be a magic night and it was. It was the perfect game in the end,” said Ronaldo, who became the first player to score three hat-tricks in the competition in one season, via Yahoo Sports.
“Goals are in my DNA and I want to keep scoring them for the team.”
Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane expressed his side after a comeback victory for his team, praising all his players’ effort for a job well done.
“He is showing what he is, which is the best player in the world,” said the Frenchman via Yahoo Sports.
“Cristiano needs the whole team, I want to speak about the team because they achieved this together.
“But he is special because not everyone is capable of scoring three goals.”
With their victory against the Wolfsburg, Cristiano Ronaldo made his 37th hat-trick for Madrid and 16th Champions League goal of the season.
