Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith adds a not-so-appealing in his resume as he was arrested Sunday morning by the Ohio State Police for DUI and found some marijuana inside his vehicle.
TMZ reported that the 2006 Heisman Trophy winner was observed by the authorities to have been weaving back and forth while driving his vehicle. When officers pulled him over, Smith opened the conversation by stating that he was an “officer” after his arresting officer introduced himself.
The whole thing was captured by the dash cam of the officer’s vehicle. After the warm introductions, the officer asked Smith if he could recite the alphabets to which Smith failed big time. He was then asked to step out of his vehicle for a field sobriety test to which he even boasted that he graduated with “bachelor’s” degree while losing his balance three times.

“I graduated from Ohio State with a degree in bachelor’s,” Smith told the officer, who obviously knew that 31-year old Ohio native was drunk.
After much testing, Smith was then handcuffed and told that he was arrested for DUI. Officers then searched his vehicle and found marijuana inside it. Smith denied that he was drinking, but when he took the Breathalyzer test, he got a .143, which clearly did not love for the authorities.
He was then charged with operating vehicle while impaired (OVI), marijuana possession as officers found two rolled cigars with marijuana in his vehicle and failure to display a front license plate. CBS released his mug shot moments after he was released to his girlfriend.
Troy Smith played for the Ohio State Buckeyes after receiving an athletic scholarship from 2003 to 2006. It was a golden moment for Smith as he took the Heisman Trophy and then went on to be drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2007 NFL Draft.
Smith played for the Ravens and was listed as a quarterback. He was a Raven until 2009 and by 2010, he went to play for the San Francisco 49ers then to the Omaha Nighthawks before joining the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2012 but was listed as an offseason practice squad member only.
Troy Smith then went on to play for the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League. The Alouettes then unconditionally released him from his contract on Oct. 2014.
