One of the latest NFL rumors states a virtual trade of running backs between the Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans as veteran RB Arian Foster has been reported as one of the targets for the Florida franchise this 2016 off-season.

Recently, the Texans signed RB Lamar Miller to a four-year deal reportedly worth about $26 million with an average salary of $6.5 million per year and guaranteed $14 million. Miller was with the Dolphins from 2012 to 2015 while Foster has been with the Texans from 2009 to 2015.

Adam Schefter, an NFL insider for the league’s official website, posted on Twitter about the possibility of Foster going to Miami, among other NFL rumors.

The Dolphins are looking to add depth to their running back position with Jay Ajayi, Damien Williams and Jahwan Edwards on the roster this off-season. Miami has been involved in a lot of NFL rumors this off-season as they try to add starting quality players in their roster, including the RB position.

Foster was seen as one of the better running backs in the league in recent years, but the 29-year-old has struggled with various injuries.

Returning from a back injury in 2014, he rushed for 1,246 yards and had eight touchdowns that season and made the Pro Bowl. However, he ruptured his Achilles tendon in the 2015 season and missed the rest of the year playing in just four games for the Texans last year.

This off-season, the Texans have decided to move on from their veteran RB after seven years as the primary RB for the team. Foster was released by the Texans in March earlier this year but finished with the franchise records, 6,472 rushing yards and 54 rushing touchdowns.

If healthy, Foster will definitely help the Dolphins squad, which ranked among the worst in average rushing yards last season. For Miami, they want this NFL rumor to be true and they could hit the jackpot if Foster can stay on the field next season.
