Jalen Ramsey looks like a superstar ahead of the 2016 NFL Draft as the Baltimore Ravens is keen in picking him up unless other teams would turn the other way. However, rumors are swirling around the league that other teams are also on the run after Ramsey and the Ravens are finding ways to prevent it from happening.
The Ravens are missing dearly in their back-end roster since Ed Reed left the team after their 2012 championship season and the Baltimore Wires reports that Ramsey is the closest player that could fill in the shoes left by Reed.
“It’s not often that a safety is considered the top prospect in the draft, but many scouts think Ramsey will be a superstar in the NFL. Ramsey put on a show at the NFL Combine which cemented himself in the top five picks of the 2016 NFL Draft. At 6-foot-1 and 209 pounds, he has the size, speed and strength you want from a safety,” Joe Serpico explains.
Truly, Ramsey seems a good fit for the Ravens, but the question is if they could have cleared down the lane for them to sign him up. The Ravens are picking number six and hopes that teams ahead of them would not take Ramsey away.
Ramsey showcased his well-known athleticism at the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine, where he was a joint-top performer in the broad jump and vertical jump. In early March 2016, Ramsey was predicted to be a top 3 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
The Ravens are not afraid to go on a shopping spree going into the draft as they went also to sign running back Trent Richardson over the weekend. Talk about Richardson playing for the Ravens heated up in February and both sides have consistently been in contact. The 25-year old Richardson was reported by Ravens’ website to have worked out with the team in March.
Since then Richardson has trained to get in shape before flying to Baltimore. He also played for the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts and Oakland Raiders. Thus, the Ravens are really rebuilding its lineup to be a top contender in the coming season and hopefully Ramsey could be also in it.
