New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is frustrated with opponents at the start of the 2016 NFL regular season. There are NFL rumors that the Giants will consider trading their star WR if he does not mature enough on the field.
The Giants are just 2-2 for the season with the last two games as losses to the Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings. However, the trade rumors are all just speculations after their starting quarterback Eli Manning called out his own teammate for his immaturity.
“He’s got to play smart. He can’t afford to do anything they’ll call. He’s kind of brought that upon himself, so he’s got to realize that… No doubt. Can’t afford the penalties,” Manning stated to Fox Sports after the loss to the Vikings.
The 23-year-old Beckham has struggled the last two games in crucial moments of the match. In the close 29-27 loss to the Redskins, Beckham had 121 receiving yards but was frustrated by Josh Norman, the star cornerback in Washington in the fourth quarter.
Beckham and the Giants lost to the undefeated Vikings, 24-10 last game. Beckham registered 23 yards on three catches, career-lows for the WR who was matched-up against cornerback Xavier Rhodes.
Beckham did not take responsibility for his actions and bad attitude on the field, which would start the NFL rumors that he could be leaving the Giants soon if he does not change.
“It’s always, it’s just my fault. That’s all I look at it as, it’s my fault. Whatever you want to call it. I just have to understand if I sneeze the wrong way, it’ll be a flag, it’ll be a fine. If I tie my shoe the wrong way, it might be a fine or a flag. It is what it is. You have to understand that,” Beckham stated to the Washington Post.
NFL analysts have criticized Beckham for easily falling to opponents’ physical plays, which affects his game. Beckham will continue to be attacked by opposing players and the NFL rumors of a trade from Giants will continue.
