NFL Trade Rumors: Update on Josh Gordon, Cleveland Browns

Josh Gordon, wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns, has been involved in many NFL trade rumors this off-season with the team reportedly seeking a second-round pick. The latest news has the team saying that they are not trading the controversial WR who was suspended for the 2015 season.

“Cleveland is my team. That’s where I want to be. (Browns owner Jimmy) Haslam, the organization, coach (Hue) Jackson, I think the world of those guys, this city, this organization. They’re showing me the love and respect back to me by allowing me to stay here up to this point,” Gordon stated to ESPN.

“I expect to move forward with that. I’m excited about it. This is where I want to be and I’m happy to be with Cleveland.”

“Listening (to trade offers) is probably a mischaracterization. We’ve said all we needed to say about it. We’re not looking to trade Josh,” Sashi Brown, executive vice president of football operations for the Browns, stated about the Gordon trade rumors, via Akron Beacon Journal.

Gordon, 25, did not play for the Browns last season due to a suspension and will also miss the first four games of the 2016 NFL Season due to a suspension. He’s allowed to join the training camp and preseason games after violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.

Gordon played for the first time for the Browns in Friday’s preseason game versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Browns lost, 30-13 but Gordon stated that he felt “great” being back on the field.
