The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the two teams still undefeated in the 2016 NFL regular season. At 3-0, they will face a road challenge when they visit the Detroit Lions, which needs to get back on the winning track after losing the last three games.
Philadelphia is off to a perfect start after wins over the Cleveland Browns (29-10), Chicago Bears (29-14) and Pittsburgh Steelers (34-3).
Detroit won the season opener against the Indianapolis Colts (39-35) but lost to the Tennessee Titans (16-15), Green Bay Packers (34-27) and Chicago Bears (17-14).
Lions head coach Jim Caldwell said that they have to play better on offense.
“We just were not sharp at all, there’s no rhythm to it. That’s my fault, I’ve got to get these guys in a better groove, we’ve got to play better,” Caldwell stated to detroitlions.com.
“I don’t think there’s any question that you have to look at the results, and the results aren’t good. I’m not hiding from that, we’ve just got to do a better job. Whatever the reason may be, we’ve got to find it and we’ve got to correct it.”
The Eagles have found early success due to the play of starting rookie quarterback Carson Wentz. In the first three games of his NFL career, the 23-year-old QB has 769 passing yards on 66 of 102 completions or 64.7% completion rate. He has five touchdowns and no interception so far.
