Tim Tebow may not have had the greatest National Football League (NFL) career he could have imagined but his supporters still obsess over him making a return to the game as well as his personal dating life.
However, the former Denver Broncos quarterback seems to have found himself a way over both and seeks to find solace in his humanitarian efforts.
The 28-year-old free agent born in Makati, Philippines has been in the news recently for various reasons. Starting from being linked with ‘The Vampire Diaries’ star Nina Dobrev because of their ‘Lip Sync Battle’ to surpassing Russell Wilson on America’s “Favorite NFL Quarterback”, Tim Tebow has headlined news articles for everything else other than his work on the gridiron.
However, the former Broncos QB has also shown his humane side to the world in his recent endeavors. Tim Tebow has his own foundation called “Tim Tebow Foundation” and he is using that to raise funds for providing medical care to children with special needs. He hosted the 6th annual Celebrity Golf Classic last week which raised around $5.5 million, as reported by The Florida Times Union.
The money raised at the event will go to the Tim Tebow Cure Hospital in Philippines, Timmy’s Playrooms for young hospital patients in the U.S, The Night to Shine Prom and W15H.
“I look forward to this every year. This is a special time. It’s loving people with special needs, caring for people with special needs, about who is being loved and who is being served” Tebow said.
It seems that the 6-foot-3 athlete has indeed gone over his agony of failing to break in the NFL as well as not making far with Nina Dobrev. With his recent humanitarian efforts, Tebow certainly has found a larger purpose in his life.
“Football is obviously the most known and recognized thing to a lot of people, but when you look at the platform he has, his greatest are yet to come, whether he plays in a Super Bowl or never plays again.” Danny Wuerffel, Gator Heisman Trophy winner said on the former NFL QB.
