Logan Couture of the San Jose Sharks says that Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins cheated during Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Couture claims that the Pittsburgh Penguins captain cheats because of who he is.
There have been observations that Crosby has been good in the game because he dominates it. It has shown time and again and has been evident especially in the second game of the Stanley Cup. There the Penguins won over the Sharks once again with a score of 2-1. The Penguins now lead the series 2-0.
While most observe that Crosby might be dominant, Couture says he thinks there’s a reason why this is so, as CBS Sports reports. He claims that Crosby is cheating and that he is getting away with it.
“He cheats and gets away with it,” Couture said after the game last Wednesday. However when asked for specifics, Couture cannot exactly say what Crosby is doing. A number of people disagree with him, however.
Fox Sports observes that Crosby did win most of his faceoffs. In Game 2 he has won 71 percent of it, while in Game 1 he has taken 51 percent of the faceoffs. Most do agree that Crosby knows how to get the edge in those times, which is a skill that takes a time to acquire. In that then he is seen to be dominant.
With the game on the line, the Sharks will have to find a way to overcome this hurdle coming into Game 3. Some surmise that it might be Couture trying to play mind games going into the third game of the series. How it would be played out will be seen when Game 3 comes on.
For his part, Crosby has not been worried about Couture’s claim. He said in the post-game press conference that he fails just as often. What most agree on is that there should be a focus on how the Sharks should play the game to not fall deeper into the hole in the series.
