Ole Miss lands No. 1 prospect Robert Nkemdiche
Robert Nkemdiche has committed to play for the Ole Miss Rebels, a decision that comes as no surprise to anyone – as he’ll be joining his brother, Denzel, on the team.
Nkemdiche announced his decision Wednesday morning at Grayson High School near Atlanta, according to Sports Illustrated. Nkemdiche’s 6-foot-5, 260 pound frame gives a strong defense to Ole Miss, who he chose over LSU and Florida.
Nkemdiche says it wasn’t only because of his brother that made it “important to make a family decision,” but because of his mother as well.
“That was my parents’ dream, to see us play together,” he said. “Who wouldn’t want to see their two sons playing together at the same school? I feel like it’s going to give them a chance to see us do some special things together.”
Denzel also added that he never doubted Robert would join him, saying, “Since the day I signed at Ole Miss, I said he was going to come play with me. That’s what I believed the whole time, and I knew everything was going to fall into place.
According to Yahoo! Sports, Nkemdiche’s recruitment signals a bright future for Ole Miss. They are also expected to sign several other top recruits, including top receiver Laquon Treadwell and offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil.
