Taylor Schilling is excited about her character’s (Piper Chapman) growth to being “the Godfather” of Litchfield in the new season of the highly acclaimed drama comedy series, “Orange is the New Black”.
In a recent press conference that also featured “Orange is the New Black” stars Natasha Lyonne (Nicky Nichols), Kate Mulgrew (Red), Taryn Manning (Pennsatucky), Selenis Leyva (Gloria Mendoza) and Michael Harney (Sam Healy) in Los Angles, Schilling commented on Chapman’s new leadership role in the prison.
“She’s becoming a little bit of a kingpin and has this swagger,” Schilling said in the press con via Hollywood Reporter. “But the feeling I always have about Piper Chapman is that she tries on everything like a piece of clothing — she doesn’t quite fit the jacket, but she tries it on. And I love that about her.”
Season 3 saw lots of interesting development in the “Orange is the New Black” series including John Bennet (played by Matt McGorry) running away from his responsibility to Daya (played by Dascha Polanco), who had her baby born; and with Piper running the new prison underwear business plus with girlfriend Alex (played by Laura Prepon) continuing being paranoid of being killed inside the prison.
