Orlando Magic blow 27-point lead, lose again to the Celtics

The Orlando Magic blew a 27-point lead as they lost to the Boston Celtics 91-83. This is the second time this week the Magic have lost to the Celtics in an embarrassing fashion. The Magic only scored 56 points when they two teams played on Monday.

The Magic only scored eight points in the fourth quarter. Kevin Garnett played 44 minutes in this game and led all scorers with 24 points. Garnett had 10 assists and 6 rebounds to go along with the 24 points. He was 7-for-18 from the field.

According to NBA.com, Paul Pierce scored 19 of his 24 points in the second half. The Celtics held the Magic to a dismal 25 points in the second half.

Dwight Howard and a double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds but it wasn’t enough. The magic shot 2-for-17 with five turnovers in the fourth quarter. The Orlando Sentinel reports that both J.J. Redick and Dwight Howard both received technical fouls in the game after arguing with referees.

The Celtics were without Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo and center Jermaine O’Neal. Garnett had to carry the Celtics which is why he played a majority of this game.

Up next for the Celtics is a home game Friday night against the Pacers, while the Magic play Friday night in New Orleans.
