Anna Kendrick is already known for portraying sweet and charming, but sexy roles on television and on big screens. Recently, rumors stated that there’s a big possibility for the Pitch Perfect actress to star in Marvel’s comic book heroine Squirrel Girl on television.
Various sources stated Marvel and ABC’s plan to recreate the famous comic book New Warriors into a television series. Their goal is to feature a new heroine Squirrel Girl known for her sassy personality.
Albeit the network’s silence about its details, rumors spread online about the network’s search for the series’ streaming outlet. That defines the heroine’s arrival anytime soon.
Also known as Doreen Green, Squirrel Girl served as a nanny to the daughter of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones in the comic books. When she’s in her superhero form, the character possessed super-speed and strength. Furthermore, she also has the ability to call all the squirrel population for rescue.
With the character’s cheeky nature, the Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo, who have been Kendrick’s avid fans, thought that the actress is the best person to act as Squirrel Girl. In fact, they have endorsed her for the role.
When questioned about acting in the spandex suit and perform as a superhero on-screen, Kendrick immediately confirmed she can do any character she wanted. That means she won’t turn down the offer whenever the Russo Brothers finally cast her.
“My brother sent me a Squirrel Girl comic because he thinks I should. I don’t know what Squirrel Girl does other than behalf squirrel, but I could be half squirrel,” she told Net-A-Porter Magazine.
Yahoo also stated that the Russo Brothers have already recommended Kendrick as Squirrel Girl for ABC and Marvel’s New Warriors project. Besides Kendrick, there were no other actresses’ names slated in the meantime.
Created as a junior version of The Avengers, Squirrel Girl is a member of the younger superhero squad. The majority of its members are teenagers.
