Castle Season 9 release: Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic share update

The popular TV series of ABC, Castle Season 8 finale will air on May 16, 2016. Many viewers of the series are still up in anticipation for Castle Season 9 and are still living with hope that the franchise will return for another season. Star of the series Nathan Fillion and co-star Stana Katic shared their feelings on the future of the series as well as the current season coming to an end.

“All things must end. It has been an honor working with the men and women of Castle. I am truly amazed at what we’ve done. Thank you all.” Fillion tweeted after the series was cancelled last week.

Katic posted a handwritten note on her Twitter account praising the fans for their support. She also mentioned that it was the devotion of the fans that carried the show for an unforgettable 8 seasons.

It has to be noted that an announcement was made earlier from ABC that it had signed actors Jon Huertas, Seamus Dever and Nathan Fillion for Castle Season 9. Rumors were also floating that Molly Quinn, Susan Sullivan and Toks Olagundoye were also being considered for a part in the series.

However, Stana Katic’s character in the show was cut by ABC and this resulted in Castle Season 9 getting scrapped. The original plan of making the ninth season with 13 episodes was heavily criticized by the fans because of what ABC did with Katic’s character.

So, everyone’s favorite crime series won’t be returning for another season and the viewers will now have to look at other possible shows to replenish their appetite. However, will any other show replicate the success or creative appeal of Castle? Only time will tell.
