Jaden Smith has escaped death over a million times recently, all thanks to a death hoax that has gone viral over the past weeks. With the Hollywood celebrity confirming that he is alive and well, these rumors have been dying (sorry) down as well but has put a spotlight on his all-too-public personal life, specifically Smith’s sexuality.
As the general public would know, Smith has been very open about his gender preference, most especially in his fashion sense. Even his sister, Willow Smith is a firm supporter of the celebrity’s “gender-neutral” movement, emphasizing that gender biases simply enclose the thinking of people.
“Males and females are put into boxes of expectation when we are born,” shared Jaden’s sister, Willow Smith. “As we grow we start to raise the damages that those expectations cause of our spiritual and emotional understanding of ourselves and life.”
Is Jaden Smith taking gender neutrality too far?
Despite being in a relationship with his current girlfriend, Sarah Snyder, Smith’s name had been dropped in gay allegations in the past, specifically with rapper Lil B. According to sources, in 2015, “Jaden hooked up with Lil B a while back at a recording session for Lil B’s 3rd studio album. The two instantly fell in love and don’t care if the world knows.” The source continued “Lil B calls Jaden his Hollywood love bug,” and that the two were reportedly “planning on getting married soon but have yet to set a date.”
It also comes to no surprise that many are suspecting Smith’s sexuality, not just because of what he wears, but also because of how he addresses and comments on the matter. In another report, as Smith was shopping for clothes, the actor was quoted saying that he “Went to TopShop to buy some Girl Clothes, I mean Clothes.”
Parents of Jaden Smith support their son’s choices
Will Smith, who had also been involved in rumors about his sexuality in the past, seemed to support his son’s choices, as any parent would.
“Jaden is 100 percent fearless, he will do anything, you know?” shared the actor during an interview with Huffington Post. “So as a parent, it’s scary, it’s really terrifying, but he is completely willing to live and die by his own artistic decisions and he just doesn’t concern himself with what people think.”
Is this a case of the apple not falling far from the tree? At the end of the day, only Jaden Smith would know.
