As Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 7 approaches, fans are eagerly anticipating another hour filled with twists and interesting storyline. A recent statement by George R.R. Martin at a science fiction convention in Baltimore could hint at a major character death in the upcoming episode. The reveal is related to everyone’s favorite and self-made knight, Brienne of Tarth.
The 67-year-old Martin said that Brienne of Tarth is related to the famous knight of Westeros, Ser Duncan the Tall. Ser Duncan existed around 100 years before the timeline in which the show is based. The man is famed for his courage, chivalry and his skills with the sword, as reported by Esquire.
Since Martin’s reveal, several fan theories and rumors are making a circle that the viewers will soon see the end of the character. Brienne of Tarth death might come as soon as the upcoming episode itself. Martin’s reveal could be hinted at raising the sentimental values of the viewers with the character before she ultimately meets her demise.
Until now, people knew the sad backstory of Brienne which highlighted the tale of her dead siblings, a forgotten mother and numerous failed marriage engagements. Martin’s confirmation of one proud moment for the knight may have been to give the character a legitimate relation to novelty before she departs the series.
The writer of the novels on which the popular Game of Thrones series is based also mentioned that his favorite character of the show is Ser Duncan. Although HBO has not spent much time with the character, Ser Duncan “Dunk” the Tall and his squire Egg’s adventures have been released as a set of novellas.
With only a couple of days more to go for Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 7, the viewers of the show will have to wait a little long to get a clear picture regarding the future of the Maiden of Tarth. It could also be that she goes on to live the entire stretch of the season. Going by the trend of the series, nothing is impossible anymore.
