Daniel Craig is out as James Bond. Who’s next in line to become the next 007?
If Batman vs Superman star Henry Cavill will have his way, he would want to don the suit and become the next James Bond. With the names of Idris Elba, Damian Lewis, and James Norton looming as potential candidates, Cavill fancies saving the world in a different manner this time around.
Henry Cavill has played the role of the Man of Steel twice already and is now setting his sights on playing the role of the world’s most popular spy. In an article published in Metro, Cavill, when asked about playing 007, revealed in a guesting in the Graham Norton Show that he is currently tied up with the Superman stuff.
“I don’t know, it all depends. Obviously I’m very busy with the Superman stuff but if there were any windows and they wanted me to do that kind of role it would be great and I would love to do it,” Cavill said.
In between his stints as Superman in Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the British actor portrayed the role of Napoleon Solo in Warner Bros.’ big screen remake of The Man from U.N.C.L.E.. He is currently wrapping up on Justice League Part 1 and it is not known how much of a break he will have before Justice League Part 2 so there could be enough of a gap in his schedule to do a Bond movie if he is offered the role.
Martin Campbell, director of Casino Royale, already had his eyes set on Henry Cavill as 007 since 2005. However, he was deemed too young for the role so Craig got the part instead. It has been a few years since then already, so Cavill has a good shot of becoming the next candidate to play Bond.
