Major Fast and the Furious character will not be in Fast 8, sources confirm

Sources have reported that Fast 8 has already wrapped up filming, marking the end of shooting death-defying stunts and actor on actor fights. The conclusion of filming also confirms the absence of one of the Fast and The Furious series’ major characters, Mia Toretto.

Toretto, who is played by actress Jordana Brewster, confirmed with the media that she was not included in the Fast 8 film.

“They are done,” said the actress. “I am not in it, so far, but we will see.”

With a full roster of powerhouse actors and actresses, this may definitely be the case.

Confirmed to be in the film are Scott Eastwood, Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron, who will be playing the movie’s main antagonists. They will be joined by series staples Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Michelle Rodrigues. With such a packed bunch, there may be no room for Brewster in the cast credits.

Another factor that may have affected the actress’ exclusion was the passing of Fast and the Furious star Paul Walker. As many would Walker played Brian, who is closely tied to Brewster’s character, Toretto. With movie execs closing the Brian book in Fast 7, it may have been that Toretto’s book was closed as well.
