Mark Zuckerberg revealed to the world his 10-year expansion program for Facebook that will revolve around artificial intelligence, connectivity and virtual and augmented reality.
USA Today reported that Zuckerberg uses the F8 Developers Conference, Tuesday to give information on how Facebook aims to reach out to people who have either no access to the internet or has limited access to cyberspace. Zuckerberg gave an inspiring and an enigmatic speech as he calls for unity despite the things that are happening around such as political unrest, widespread of diseases and climate change.
“As I look around the world, I’m starting to see people and nations turning inward, against the idea of a connected world and a global community. I hear fearful voices calling for building walls and distancing people they label as ‘others.’ I hear them calling for blocking free expression, for slowing immigration, for reducing trade, and in some cases even for cutting access to the internet. It takes courage to choose hope over fear,” Zuckerberg said.

He even posted on his account that the speech he gave was “personally important” to him as he spent a quality of his time writing it.
“Even if it’s unusual for a CEO to address world issues and lay out a 10-year roadmap to improve them, I care deeply about connecting the world and bringing people together, so I wanted to put this out there. It’s different from any other speech I’ve given,” Zuckerberg wrote.
Going back to his expansion plan, CNET reports that Zuckerberg explained that with artificial intelligence it will help Facebook to filter all photos, videos and updates that its users upload on their respective accounts while the connectivity aims for Facebook and internet access available through lasers and drones for everyone at any given point in the world.
For the third pillar of his expansion, Zuckerberg stated he hopes one day to bring friends together even if they are in different locations to a pair of “normal-looking” glasses that can overlay digital elements on the physical world and become “the most social platform.”
Though some are not buying Zuckerberg’s ideas, but many are excited about what the future holds as Facebook continues to grow into an Empire with solid stronghold.
