Fans of the famous Netflix series Daredevil are waiting in anticipation for seeing their favorite Marvel hero tag alongside the Avengers and Spider-Man in taking down the villains. However, they will be heartbroken to know that it is unlikely to happen anytime soon. At least that’s what Charlie Cox, who plays the “Devil of Hell’s Kitchen”, says.
“There was no conversation about joining any of the movies. Who, wouldn’t want to be in the highest grossing film of all time?” Cox said, as reported by CNet.
Cox went on to explain that Marvel TV and Marvel movies have different studio franchises and this could rule out the possibility of seeing Daredevil fighting alongside the Avengers, at least with Cox as Daredevil.
“Captain America: Civil War” is the upcoming blockbuster movie to hit the screens and will feature a tide of superheroes taking sides to either Captain America himself or Iron Man. The movie will also feature a new look Spider-Man. However, Daredevil won’t be one of the many superheroes showcased in the movie.
“Yeah, that would be the coolest thing ever. Marvel TV and Marvel Studios are two very different things. Even if the character were to appear in the film, that doesn’t necessarily mean that I would appear in that film” Cox said, further suggesting that any chance of him being seen alongside Robert Downey Jr. or Chris Evans, at least for the time being.
Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn also stated recently of how the TV and Film, which is owned by Disney are “disconnected”.
The present scenario of the TV and Studios acting on different paths seem to be the result of Marvel Entertainment CEO Ike Permutter head butting with Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige. Both had opinion differences over various strategies and policies.
