Orange is the New Black (OITNB) Season 4 will premiere on Netflix soon and Piper Kerman, the person on whose experiences the show is adapted from has shared some very interesting pointers which could reveal where the series is heading next. Season 4 of the show will mainly focus on racial, economic and cultural struggles of the prisoners as new inmates enter the Litchfield minimum-security prison.
Orange is the New Black Season 4 will see new inmates and relatively new prison guards struggling for survival and will be involved in cultural tussles. The show is renowned for featuring a variety of cast members from its initial season and the new one will follow the same trend, as reported by Den of Greek.
Brad William Henke will join OITNB cast from Season 4 as a prison guard and his character will be named Desi Piscatella. Jolene Purdy has also been declared to feature in Season 4 of OITNB, but no further news of her character has been disclosed yet. Mike Houston (CO Dixon) and Kelly Karbacz (Kasey Sankey) has also been named as a part of the new cast entering the show, as reported by Inquisitr.
Taylor Schilling, who plays the main character Piper Chapman in the series has recently revealed that her character will evolve more in the upcoming season. Her life will become more practical and will show a lot more prison instincts than what was seen in the previous seasons. She will be more adaptive to survival, rather than brushing her hair and taking care of her looks, according to Pop Sugar.
Meanwhile, Piper Kerman, the woman whose prison memoirs have provided the base for the show has recently shared some insightful thoughts which could reveal where the show is heading. Kerman mentioned that she did not have any sexual relationships while in prison and that she always felt a strong bond with her fiancé. She eventually went on to marry Larry, who is also a writer as portrayed by Jason Biggs in the series, as reported by The Telegraph.
Although the series differ in many ways from the book, we could all see the possibility that Piper Chapman may eventually get married to Larry. She may have a lesbian fling going on with Alex Vause, but it won’t last long. It has to be noted that in real life, the hookup never happened inside the prison.
Orange is the New Black Season 4 will hit Netflix on June 17, 2016.
