WNBA: Jessica Breland hits a buzzer beater to take Sky in their 2nd straight win in final seconds

Jessica Breland made a buzzer beater shot with 0.2 seconds left to help Sky in winning their second straight games in the final seconds.

Chicago Sky defeated Phoenix Mercury by a score of 79-77 that happened Tuesday night.

Candice Dupree made a runner in the lane for Phoenix with 12.8 seconds remaining to tie it at 77-all. After a timeout, Elena Delle Donne wasted a contested jumper, Imani Boyette had a bank shot roll out and Breland elevated for the winner.

Delle Donne made a 3-pointer buzzer beater with a second left give the Sky a 91-88 win over Seattle on Sunday night. This is their first win in final seconds.

Delle Donne scored 18 points and nine rebounds for Chicago (11-12), ranked fifth in the AP power poll. Jamierra Faulkner added 14 points and Breland finished with nine points and seven rebounds.

DeWanna Bonner led seventh-seeded Phoenix (10-14) with 20 points and eight rebounds. Dupree added 18 points and eight rebounds.

Two starters were ejected with 9:33 remaining in the third quarter. Brittney Griner and Cappie Pondexter were ejected for an altercation during the game. Griner and Pondexter bumped to each other on a high screen and after teammates got between them, Griner pushed Pondexter in the head. Officials reviewed the play and called Pondexter for a flagrant foul 2.

This is the second time Brittney Griner ejected from a game this month.

The Sky will face the Connecticut Sun in their next game, July 22.
