X-Men: Apocalypse: Wolverine in but Hugh Jackman exits movie?

In a recently released trailer, the newest baby in the X-Men franchise X-Men: Apocalypse featured a spine tingling teaser of a major cameo set to appear in the movie. Despite the trailer showing plenty of unseen footage of what the movie will offer, the fans got excited by the confirmation of a rather predictable but highly anticipated cameo, Wolverine.

However, the man who has made Wolverine his own and the last remaining link from the previous trilogy of X-Men movies,  Hugh Jackman’s return was in doubt as the actor previously claimed of hanging up his claws soon. But, all doubts were shredded when the 47-year-old uploaded a small clip from the movie trailer on his Instagram account which particularly focused on his famous adamantium claws covered in blood.

X-Men: Apocalypse is the sequel to the 2014 movie X-Men: Days of Future Past. The movie introduces Apocalypse, who is the first and the most powerful mutant and has been worshiped as a god ever since the dawn of civilization. Awakening after thousands of years he cannot recognize the modern world and hence hires a team of powerful mutants, “The Four Horsemen” – Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Angel (Ben Hardy) and Psylocke (Olivia Munn) to destroy mankind to ashes and build a new world.

Looking at the trailer, the upcoming movie certainly looks like the toughest battle the X-Men has ever faced. The trailer shows Professor X (James McAvoy) being held as captive which forces an unlikely leader, Raven to lead the X-Men’s young guns against the enemy.

X-Men: Apocalypse releases in theaters on May 27, 2016 in the United States.
