English Premier League (EPL) club Manchester United are confident of landing Juventus and France midfielder Paul Pogba this summer. The club hierarchy is doing everything to strike a deal with the Italian club to re-sign their former player.
Manchester United believe that Juventus will sell Pogba after receiving a world record transfer bid for him. However, the main challenge in the signing will be the player himself, whose choice will matter the most. The 23-year-old has also been linked with a move to La Liga giant Real Madrid, as reported by Manchester Evening News.
Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola is having a fantastic summer with the Red Devils as two of his clients, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan has already signed at Old Trafford. Raiola is trying his best to convince Pogba to sign a deal with his former club.
It is expected that the deal will gain steam once France’s journey in the Euro 2016 ends. United’s insider sources say that Raiola has promised the board of doing his utmost to convince the French player of joining the Theater of Dreams.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that he is looking to strengthen four key areas of the squad. Three of those have already been met with the likes of Eric Bailly, Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan. In his recent press conference, the Portuguese revealed his confidence of signing the fourth target quickly, who is believed to be Pogba.
Mourinho was initially pessimistic of signing the Frenchman given United’s lack of Champions League football this season as well as an interest in the player from Real Madrid. However, Raiola’s exploits with the Red Devils this summer has given the man from Portugal fresh confidence of acquiring his target.
