Anthony Weiner is a former US representative who won seven terms and has never received votes lower than 59%. But he’s been out of public service after he was caught up in a sexting scandal in 2011 and crumbled during the mayoral candidacy afterward when women showed up accusing him again of sending lewd pictures.
Anthony Weiner is now back in the limelight after declaring that he would run once again for mayor of New York City, as long as it was against Donald Trump Jr.
Trump Jr. didn’t make any formal announcement regarding his political career, but he did not turn it down either. The fact that he did not rule it out prompted Weiner to make his renewed political aspirations known while attending the Democratic National Convention.
Anthony Weiner is married to Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton’s vice chairwoman for her campaign. It is more than enough reason to spark the fire between the political rivals, and sure enough, Donald Trump came firing back describing Weiner as a sleazeball, and a proven loser.
Donald Trump also said that unlike himself, Hillary Clinton didn’t deserve to receive intelligence reports because she’d have to share it with Huma, so it’d eventually end up being shared away to the public by the ex-congressman.
Business Insider reports the elder Trump said, “My son doesn’t want to run for mayor, he has no intention to run for mayor.”
“And besides that, as a Republican, you have a very tiny sliver in Manhattan and in that area. It’s almost impossible for a Republican to win, and my son likes to win. But my son has no intention to run for mayor, so let’s just put that to bed.” Donald Trump added in an interview at the Florida golf club.
Trump Jr. has been rumored to become a mayoral rival after he pointed out that he’d love to battle the incumbent mayor, Bill de Blasio in 2017, but it seems the elder Trump has shot down all those rumors now.
The younger Trump responded to Anthony Weiner according to Radar Online saying, “Too soon Anthony!!! You probably shouldn’t be talking about beating anything ever again” Trump Jr. wrote. “Go back to your cave.”
