World War 3 Rumors: Will the U.S putting their ‘Plan B’ to work spark a third world war?

With the Syria conflict going on, Russia and the United States seem to be in a silent stand-off waiting and see what the next move of the other is. However, World War 3 rumors persist as the temperature keeps on rising hotter than ever, especially with Dmitry Kiselyov’s heated accusations and threats. He reportedly said that if the U.S pushes through with its ‘Plan B’ in Syria, then it could have nuclear consequences.

‘Plan B’ as everyone might be familiar by now, is the United States’ use of its full military might in Syria to overthrow the regime of President Assad. The Russian Foreign Minister to Syria, Sergey Lavrov, even accused the United States of keeping the jihadist group al-Nustra to do that in an interview with BBC.

“They still, in spite of many repeated promises and commitments … are not able or not willing to do this and we have more and more reasons to believe that from the very beginning the plan was to spare al-Nusra and to keep it just in case for Plan B or stage two when it would be time to change the regime,” Lavrov added.

There are even reports that further strengthen World War 3 rumors and that is about the U.S.’ Plan B or stage two is being implemented now. Evidence of that is the United States’ response to Turkey’s crackdown on dissenters and rebels of all forms after a failed coup attempt to overthrow Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan.

The essence of the American Plan B, according to the New Eastern Outlook journal, is to divide the regions and isolate them from each other. However, they will not be able to do that as long as President Assad is still in. On the other hand, the United States will continue to “promote separatist sentiments” in order to stop the Syrian conflict from becoming a peaceful process, the journal said.

Lasayov said in the BBC interview that Russia is still open for an open dialogue to settle the Syrian crisis. However, U.S. State Department spokesperson said that the U.S is “on the verge” of severing its ties with Syria and Russia.

With the United States being stubborn about its Plan B, will it further the ire of Kremlin which could fuel more World War 3 rumors or worse, result in a possible WWIII breakout?
