Purdue names Rob Henry as starting quarterback
Camps are beginning to heat up and leaders are emerging. That is exactly what has happened for Purdue, which named senior Rob Henry the starting quarterback.
According to Purduesports.com, head coach Darrell Hazell took to video to announce his starting quarterback for the season. He picked Henry.
The quarterback has seen action while with the Boilermakers and will look to continue the success he once had at the position.
In 2010, Henry became the only Boilermaker in history to lead in passing and rushing statistics. Moving into the 2011 campaign, he was named a captain of the Purdue team as per ESPN. This all came to an unfortunate stop in the fall of 2011 as Henry tore his ACL a week before the season and was forced to sit out the entire year.
In 2012, Henry returned to the field and threw for only 216 yard and thee touchdown while also rushing for 74 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
Now he will have a chance again to take the leading role and help Purdue battle through the Big Ten conference.
The Boilermakers will kick off the 2013 seaosn on August 31 against the Cincinnati Bear Cats.
