Rockets come back to beat Bulls

The Houston Rockets came back from down 15 points Monday night to hand the Bulls their first back-to-back losses since last season.

Rockets forward Louis Scola had 18 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists in the win, point guard Goran Dragic had 21 points and 5 rebounds, and forward Courtney Lee had 13 points and 2 assists, including two jumpers late that helped to seal the game.

Bulls forward Luol Deng had 24 points and 7 rebounds to pace the Bulls in the loss, while power forward Carlos Boozer contributed 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Bulls point guard Derrick Rose sat out for the 11th game in a row with his hurt groin, but guard Rip Hamilton came back after missing the last 14 games with a hurt right ankle.

“We miss Derrick,” Deng said after the game. “We are better with Derrick. But everybody has injuries. They (the Rockets) are missing guys. We have enough talent to win.”

Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau was not happy with his team’s effort.

“Started the first quarter the same way,” Thibodeau said. “Ended the second (quarter) the same way. Started the third quarter the same way. No edge. No defense. Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers.”

Derrick Rose may be back in action on Sunday for the Bulls when they play the New York Knicks on the road.

Before that, though, they play Boston Thursday at home, while the Rockets look to win another one on Friday when they play the Los Angeles Lakers on the road.
