Rockies’ Tulowitzki has broken rib, out 4-6 weeks
After Carlos Gonzalez left Thursday’s game getting hit by a foul ball in the 2nd inning while standing on deck. The Colorado Rockies lost there other superstar in the 7th inning against the Washington Nationals.
Tulowitzki left the game in the seventh inning with a rib injury and had an MRI after the game. The MRI revealed that Tulowitzki has a broken rib on the right side and will miss four to six weeks, according to the Denver Post.
“I’m just really upset. I worked so hard (to get back),” Tulowitzki said, “I’m in a lot of pain right now; I’m not sure how long (I’ll be out).
According to CBS Sports.com, Tulowitzki was dealing with pain in his rib cage and on a diving play in the seventh inning, the injury became more severe.
Tulowitzki was hitting .347 with 16 home runs and 51 runs batted in this season and was leading the vote to be the starter for the National League all star team.
Injuries have been an issue for Tulowitzki. He is facing being on the disabled list for the fifth time in his career.
