Rolex will endorse Tiger Woods
On Wednesday, Tiger Woods inked his first huge sponsorship deal with Rolex after he lost other major deals due to martial problems that affected his golf career.
According to CBS, the details of the sponsorship were not announced, but the deal looks to be longer than five years.
Woods’ life took a turn for the worse after he was found to have cheated on his wife multiple times, which subsequently led him to a divorce.
Before then, the champion had endorsements with some of the top names including Nike, Electronic Arts, AT&T, Accenture, and Tag Heuer, Reuters reports.
Rolex feels that the negative woes that affected Woods’ life two years ago are done. They also truly believe that he has a future in golf, and are going to be there with him.
“Rolex is convinced that Tiger Woods still has a long career ahead of him and that he has all the qualities required to continue to mark the history of golf,” Rolex said in a statement on Wednesday. “The brand is committed to accompanying him in his new challenges.”
“This association pays tribute to the exceptional stature of Tiger Woods and the leading role he plays in forging the sport’s global appeal. It also constitutes a joint commitment to the future.”
Woods has 14 majors and 82 wins under his belt but has not took home the gold since the Australian Masters in 2009.
