Rafael dos Anjos to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov?

Rafael dos Anjos had to unceremoniously pull out from his UFC 196 fight against Conor McGregor due to injury. But it looks like Rafael dos Anjos is ready to fight again.

Rafael dos Anjos has called out Khabib Nurmagomedov for a fight in July, reports Bloody Elbow. After Tony Ferguson pulled out from UFC fight on FOX 19, Khabib is without an opponent. The Brazilian has thereby offered a fight to him stating that they have some “unfinished business”.

“Sorry to hear Ferguson is out. @TeamKhabib We have some unfinished business, I’ll be ready in July @danawhite@lorenzofertitta #Jesusfirst,” Dos Anjos posted on Twitter.

Khabib and Dos Anjos last met in April 2014 at UFC on FOX 11, where the former defeated the latter. It was also Khabib’s last fight. Post-fight, Rafael dos Anjos went on to win three titles in a row.

Unfortunately for the lightweight champion, Khabib is not interested in fighting him. In response to his fight offer, Khabib couldn’t help but slam him outrightly.

@RdosAnjosMMA I believe it was clear to everyone last time. Or “Fake champ” title still torturing you?,” he tweeted.

To rub salt into the wound, Khabib accompanied the message with a picture, where he is seen taking down Dos Anjos.

He also made it clear that he wants to fight next weekend itself.

“Pettis, Cowboy, RDA or somebody, anyone and any weight. 16 April I’m waiting for you guys. @danawhite @lorenzofertitta#InshaAllahVictory,” he posted.

Apart from Dos Anjos, Khabib was also offered a fight by Donald Cerrone.

“I Know A Guy!!,” Cerrone posted when news about Ferguson pulling out surfaced.

Later Ariel Helwani of The MMA Hour took to Twitter to confirm the news.

“I’m told Cerrone wants assurance that if he takes this fight against Khabib that he still gets to fight @patrick_cote 6/18. He wants both,” he posted.
