English Premier League (EPL) club Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that on-loan midfielder Jack Wilshere could be the next manager for the Gunners. The Frenchman has claimed that the player has a proper “football brain” and that “it’s in his genes”.
“Certainly, one day, he will be in my seat. He has a real football brain and understands football. It’s in his genes.” Wenger said, as reported by Guardian.
However, there are rumors circling around the player that Wishere’s future at Arsenal might be over. If a 24-year-old player, who is unable to break into the first-team for the Gunners now, how will he be able to do in within a years’ time?
Wenger however has calmed everyone down by stating that the season-long loan deal for Wilshere at Bournemouth has only been arranged to make sure that the player gets regular football. The midfielder has spent a lot of time on the sidelines recovering from the multiple injuries in recent seasons and wasn’t assured regular minutes at the Emirates.
“You imagine what he must feel like when he cannot play, with everything he can do. It is very frustrating. What is at stake for him is just playing. He is not yet completely at his physical level.” Wenger added.
The 3-time Premier League winning manager has stressed on that fact that he always looks towards the best interest of both the club and the player when making any decision. He feels that Wilshere will be able to have a 40-game season before coming back to Arsenal.
The man from Stevenage, England has a couple of years left on his current contract with the Gunners. When asked about an extension, Wenger assured that the England international will be offered one in December, this year.
