Bundesliga giant Bayern Munich has been liked with Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry. The 21-year-old has had an impressive Rio 2016 Olympics, winning a silver medal with Germany.
Gnabry was Germany’s player of the tournament and scored 6 goals for his country. His impressive performance has got him linked with loan moves to many Bundesliga clubs. However, Bayern Munich’s link is the biggest of them all, according to Sky Sport News HD.
Gnabry’s contract with Arsenal ends in a year’s time. But, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has suggested that he wants to keep hold of the player and will offer him a contract extension.

“I want to keep Serge Gnabry and to extend his contract. We stood by him for a long time. We built his confidence when he came back and I allowed him to go to the Olympic Games without having played for us at all, to get him back to competition and to help Germany. He’s been here for a long-time and it’s important he stays with us.” Wenger said, as reported by Arseblog NEWS.com.
But, there is a weirdness surrounding the entire transfer rumor. It is being reported than Bayern will immediately loan out Gnabry to Werder Bremen after signing him from Arsenal. It will be interesting to see how the player reacts in such a scenario.
Arsene Wenger may want to keep hold of the player, but if Gnabry refuses to sign a contract extension, then the Frenchman’s hand might be forced into selling one of their prized young prospects.
