English Premier League (EPL) club Arsenal are set to miss out on Wolfsburg attacking midfielder Julian Draxler. French giant Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are ready to outbid the gunners by offering a transfer fee of $83.73 million for the player.
Draxler have recently expressed his desire to leave Wolfsburg after the side failed to secure a place in any European competition this season. The Die Wölfe managed an eight place in the Bundesliga, which is below par of the player’s ambition.
“I clearly told Dieter Hecking after the European Championship that I wanted to leave Wolfsburg. The coach knew for over three weeks. It really surprised me that for weeks they talked to the media about me.” Draxler said, as reported by Jim Sheridan of the Sun.
Although PSG are ready to pay big amount for the German, many believe that the move will be harmful for the player’s career graph. The man form Gladbeck won’t be getting many first-team opportunities at Paris and poor quality opposition in Ligue 1 will also affect his development as a player.
Draxler to PSG = worst move possible for him. No playing time guaranteed + poor opponents.

A summer transfer move to the Parc des Princes will mean increased competition for places. PSG already has the likes of Angel Di Maria and Lucas Moura on the wings. They have also signed Hatem Ben Arfa and Jese Rodriguez this summer. So, the transfer seems impractical for Draxler.
The 22-year-old made a total of 21 appearances for Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga last season. He created 36 chances for his team and also found the net 5 times. He has an average pass accuracy of 83% and a shot accuracy of 61%, as reported by Squawka.
