However, only one club will get the Roma ace’s service and going by the present trend United seem more likely to land him. Pjanic will be easily available since he has a release clause of $44.15 million. Both the Premier League giants are easily capable of spending that amount since they would be getting quality in return.

Since, both United and Chelsea will match the release clause set by Roma, it will be upon Pjanic to decide where we wants to ply his trade. Given Mourinho has a track record of instant success, Manchester looks to be the likely destination for the 25-year-old.

However, United are currently in turmoil. With Champions League football unlikely for the next season, Chelsea looks a much more lucrative prospect. Although the London based club may not feature in next season’s Champions League, they have a solid foundation on which Conte could build his dynasty. United looks like a much trickier project.

It’s still not certain where Pjanic will end up next season, but what is certain is that both United and Chelsea will go all out in the transfer market next summer to assemble the best possible squad money can buy.
