Arsene Wenger has revealed that he wants three players for Arsenal. The Gunners pipped the Tottenham Hotspurs in the EPL table by beating Aston Villa 4-0 at home. This means the Gunners’ boss is confident to retain his position at the North London club.
Wenger pointed out that he’s certain that the Gunners’ fans would be happy to see their side above Spurs for the 21st straight season, despite losing out in the title race.
“For a while, our supporters were not going home very happy here. At least today they had some satisfaction,” Wenger said, according to the ESPN.
“We don’t start the season thinking we want to finish above Tottenham. We want to win the league. There is a frustration that we didn’t win the league, but you play with the target you have. Today, the only target we had before the game was to finish second. We achieved it.”
The Gunners boss also insisted he wants to retain the squad, but add three new players to upgrade it for the next season.
“We want to keep the squad stable over the summer while strengthening where possible,” Wenger added. “You want the group to be stimulated and to believe that we have improved the quality.
