English Premier League (EPL) club Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund wonderkid, Cristian Pulisic and have submitted a bid to acquire the 17-year-old. However, the Reds have made it clear that they are not interested in signing the out-of-favor Manchester City goalkeeper, Joe Hart.
“Liverpool have made an £11 million ($14.44 million) offer for Christian Pulisic, Borussia Dortmund’s 17-year-old winger.” Tony Barrett of the Times tweeted on Friday. It was also previously reported by Sam Stejskal of MLSSoccer.com that another Premier League club, Stoke City were also interested in signing the winger and have submitted an offer. Other clubs like RB Leipzig and CSKA Moscow have also showed their interest and are closely monitoring the situation.
Pulisic has been tagged as one of the most promising talents playing in Europe at the moment. The youngster has shown his potential in the German Bundesliga on several occasions for Dortmund last season. However, the USA international could see his first-team opportunities decrease this season with the club signing many talented players like Ousmane Dembele and Emre Mor.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has a wonderful track record of developing young players and could offer Pulisic a perfect opportunity to reach his potential. It has to be noted that chances of first-team football at Anfield will be minimal as well, but the tough and physical nature of the Premier League could appeal to the youngster who is yet to make a decision on his future.
Given his incredible talent and potential, it will be interesting to see if Dortmund agrees to let the player leave for a transfer fee of $14.44 million. Only one week remains before the summer transfer window closes, so Liverpool has to be quick if they are interested to add Pulisic to their ranks.
Meanwhile, the Reds will not be signing Joe Hart this summer, despite many reports suggesting that the England international is on his way to Anfield. Klopp is currently happy with the form of Simon Mignolet and is also hopeful that Loris Karius will be making a quick recovery. Hence, Hart will be an excess to Liverpool’s requirement at the moment, as reported by James Pearce of Liverpool Echo.
Joe Hart seems to be losing out of clubs where he could end up in the summer. Another suitor of the goalkeeper, Everton has also revealed that they are not interested to sign the 29-year-old custodian.
The final few days of the summer transfer window will be an interesting watch with Premier League clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton and West Ham going all the way until the end hour to acquire their targets.
