Manchester United Transfer News: Darmian set for Old Trafford exit; Blind wanted by Inter boss Frank De Boer

Manchester United right-back, Matteo Darmian’s future at Old Trafford is set to end as the player is tipped to leave the Red Devils this summer. The Italian joined United only last season but it seems that new manager Jose Mourinho doesn’t favor the player as he was left out of the match day squad that traveled to Bournemouth on Saturday.

Mourinho favors Antonio Valencia as the first-team right-back and this could push the former Torino man out of the Theater of Dreams. It is reported that Serie A club Napoli are interested in the player and could offer the defender a chance to return to his homeland, according to Manchester Evening News.

According to Squawka, Darmian made a total of 28 appearances for Manchester United last season, earning a performance score of 240. He won an average of 52% duels and was involved in 4 defensive actions per match. He also scored 1 goal and had a pass accuracy of 79%.

Meanwhile, another player who is tipped to leave the Red Devils this summer is Dutch international Daley Blind. The player is being chased by new Inter Milan manager, Frank De Boer. The duo worked together at their previous club, Ajax.

The Dutchman believes that Blind’s versatility is a crucial part of his game and would strengthen is Inter team. 46-year-old is extremely keen to reunite with his former player.

“We have a lot of good defenders here but we’ll see. I know his situation and I think he’s very happy with confidence but we’ll see in the future.” De Boer said, as reported by Gazetta World.

Blind was one of the few players who had a good time under United’s former manager Louis Van Gaal. He stood out as one of the commanding center backs for United last season and his pairing with Chris Smalling at the back was something to cherish for United fans.
