Manchester United is reportedly free to sign Monaco right-back Fabinho as his club has qualified for the UEFA Champions League. The Brazilian scored the winner for his side against Villarreal on Tuesday.
Transfer rumors suggest that Fabinho had a deal with Monaco if they qualified for the Champions League. With the French club’s qualification now done, it has activated a clause in the Brazilian’s contact which allows him to join the 20-time Premier League champions, as reported by France Football, via Telegraph.
The transfer speculation has received further heat after the player’s wife, Rebecas Tavares started following Manchester United on Instagram.
Fabinho is an exciting right-back with endless potential. He is one of the few good players who play in the French Ligue 1 outside Paris Saint-Germain. He has exceptional attacking qualities as well as defensive attributes and is favored by United manager, Jose Mourinho.
The man from Campinas, Brazil has already scored two goals in the current season and has been extremely good for Monaco. Last season, he made a total of 34 appearances for his club, in which me attempted 89 tackles and was successful in 76 interceptions. He created a total of 25 chances for his team and was able to execute 29 take-ons, according to Squawka.
The main attribute which current United right-back Valencia lacks is the decision between attacking and defending. While the man from Ecuador is amazing going forward, he has his defensive weaknesses which could easily be exposed by a quality opposition. This is where Fabinho could prove to be an improvement in Mourinho’s Manchester United.
