Barcelona forward Munir is beginning to realize that in order to develop in his career, he needs to make a move away from the Camp Nou. The striker is reportedly waiting for English Premier League (EPL) club Tottenham Hotspur to make an offer, despite many offers already on the table.
The 20-year-old knows that Barcelona are already looking to bring in a fourth striker at the club. After Brazilian superstar Neymar returns from the Olympics, it will be tough for the Spaniard to gain regular football in the Blaugrana first-team setup. This has forced Munir to consider his future away from Barcelona, for the time being, as reported by SPORT.
Tottenham are seriously monitoring the transfer situation of the Spanish youngster and are reportedly interested in signing the forward. An official transfer bid from the Premier League club towards the later stages of the summer transfer window could be one of the latest surprises of the market, this season.
Barcelona wants the player to choose La Liga club Valencia as his next destination so that they could acquire Paco Alcacer in return. However, the La Liga champs have made it clear, that the player can chose his own future and the club won’t stand in his way.
The only barrier which stands in the way of Munir to Tottenham Hotspur transfer is the buyback clause Barcelona wants to include in the deal. The Catalan giants also want $17 million for the player. The money won’t be a factor for the London based club. However, they don’t want to include any buy back option in the negotiation process.
The Spurs are reportedly interested in signing a young striker, who could occasionally play wide as well as through the middle. Munir is the best option available in the current transfer window. The club has also not made any big transfer signings this summer, so this could be the move they have been waiting for.
Stoke City and Everton are the other Premier League clubs interested in signing the player. It has to be noted that Everton manager Ronald Koeman is a former Barcelona player and the club already has a deal with the Catalan giants, featuring a buy back clause for Gerard Deulofeu.
