Manchester United’s chase for Paul Pogba seems to be dragging on forever as Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri gave his latest thoughts on the transfer. The Old Lady will take on Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday in Melbourne Australia and the Italian shared his views on the most talked about transfer news this summer.
“I am not going to talk about the transfer market news we are just here to get ready. The club is going to talk about the transfer market and they are doing very well so I am happy in that regard.” Allegri said, as reported by MailOnline.
The Italian has supposedly banned talking about the French midfielder’s future. Pogba is slated to make a world record transfer move to former club Manchester United for $131.5 million. However, talks are dragging more than the Red Devils hierarchy would have wanted.
The recent update on the Paul Pogba to Manchester United transfer rumor suggests that Juventus has asked the Red Devils to pay $11 million more to acquire the player, which currently stands at $131.76 million. The final figure includes all the add-ons based on the player’s future performances, as reported by Guardian.
Real Madrid were known to be interested in signing the Frenchman, but are not eager to match the valuation offered by United and have decided to end their chase of the player. This has left United in the pole position to bring their academy product back at the club.
The Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho has already hinted that the club is looking to sign four major players this summer and Pogba is the main target for the midfield position. With the other three, Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic already captured, the Frenchman is the only marquee signing left to be completed.
As things stand at the moment, Pogba will either be a Juventus player next season or will make a transfer move to Manchester United.
