Rumors suggest that Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is set to transfer to Paris Saint-Germain. The move is one step closer to reality after the French champions made a verbal agreement with Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes.
According to a report from Sky Sports, the Portuguese superstar’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has reached a “verbal agreement with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi,” which would see Ronaldo move to the Parc des Princes should he depart the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ronaldo has become the primary target of PSG after their striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic expressed his intention to leave the team when his contract expires at the end of the current season. He said that teams from the Premier League are interested in his signature with Manchester United leading the pack.
Ronaldo and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi had their first meeting after Real Madrid defeated Wolfsburg where Ronaldo scored a hat-trick that led to his team’s victory.
According to Bleacher Report, Paris Saint-Germain are willing to throw tons of money in order to acquire Ronaldo from Real Madrid. A bid worth more than the $116 million Los Blancos paid for Ronaldo in 2009 would surely be worth a discussion from the Madrid hierarchy.
There are reports saying that the 31-year-old Real Madrid star will be extending his contract and expressed his intention to retire at the Bernabeu. Some speculated that if Paris Saint-Germain will propose the right price, there is a possibility that Ronaldo might change his mind to leave his current team.
However, chances of getting Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid will depend upon the result of the Champions League final . If Real Madrid wins, Paris Saint-Germain will likely have to wait for another year to get their hold on the Portuguese.
