If everything falls into place, Leroy Fer will be a permanent Swansea City player soon. The central midfielder from Netherlands is extremely interested to continue his career at the Liberty Stadium and The Swans hierarchy are doing everything to conclude the deal at the earliest.
Fer has been on loan at Swansea City from Queens Park Rangers from January, this year. The man from Zoetermeer, Netherlands has just one year left on his contract with The Hoops. He is available for a fraction of $10.66 million QPR paid to bring him from Norwich City a couple of years back.
“Leroy did well for us after coming in on loan last season and we are now in discussion with QPR,” Huw Jenkins, Swansea chairman said, as reported by South Wales Evening Post.
Although nothing official has been declared by either of the clubs or the player yet, insider sources reveal that a deal has been reached and the decision of the transfer will be declared soon.
Leroy Fer made a total of 11 appearances in the Premier League last season where he created eight chances and two assists for his team. He had an average pass accuracy of 84% and a shot accuracy of just 25%. His lower shot accuracy was reflected as he scored no goals in the campaign, according to Squawka.com.
The Dutchman has himself revealed that he feels at home in Swansea and would love to play for the club in the upcoming season.
“I immediately felt at ease. If possible I would like to stay here. They really play football here,” Fer said.
