UFC: Dana White says McGregor can’t beat Dos Anjos

Dana White no doubt has a soft spot for Conor McGregor. The UFC president has not only allowed McGregor to move up a division to lightweight but has also allowed him to keep his featherweight title.

However, White is realistic too.

There are many people who think that McGregor hardly has any chance of winning against Brazilian Rafael dos Anjos.

Dana White too belongs to that category of people.

In an interview to FOX Sports, the UFC President expressed his concerns and said that he doesn’t think Conor will win the fight.

“I don’t see how he wins this fight,” White said.

McGregor earned quite a name for himself when he defeated Jose Aldo at UFC 194 within 13 seconds into the fight.

Immediately after his UFC 194 win, McGregor sat for talks with Dana to move to lightweight division.

McGregor now fights lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 196 on March 5. In the same event, women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm will be making her first title defence against Miesha Tate.

According to Dana, the size difference will be too much for McGregor to overcome.

“[McGregor’s] the 145-pound champion, he can stay in his own lane, [but] this guy’s moving up to 155 to take on an animal who destroyed Cowboy Cerrone, destroyed Anthony Pettis,” White said.

“And this isn’t like boxing, where you move up two or three pounds, you move up 15 pounds,” he added.

Even Jon Jones has picked Rafael dos Anjos over Conor McGregor.

“It’s hard to say. I’m a big fan of (Conor) McGregor, I’m becoming a huge fan of (Rafael dos Anjos). Based on (dos Anjos) performances, I think I’m going to go with him. I’m not rooting for either person but if I had to put my money on someone, I’d put it on RDA,” Jon told in a recent interview.
