Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic at UFC 196. Does this excite you guys? But it might turn into reality if UFC President Dana White gives it a nod for Jon Jones has expressed his willingness to fight Stipe Miocic at UFC 196.

Fabricio Werdum withdrew from the fight a day after Cain Velasquez announced his withdrawal and issued an apology to Werdum on Facebook for quitting. Consequently, Miocic was brought into the picture to replace Velasquez but now with Werdum quitting too, Miocic has no partner to dance with.

And now like a knight in shining armor Jon Jones has come to the rescue and offered to fight Miocic. He announced his decision on Twitter. However, there is a catch to the story for Jones is willing to fight Miocic only on one condition.

The former UFC light heavyweight champion is willing to fight Miocic but only if it’s a fight for the actual title. Jones has made it clear that he does not want to fight for any interim title.

News about Jones willing to fight Miocic erupted after a fan asked White to make Jones fight Miocic for the interim heavyweight title and Jones immediately took to Twitter to express his interest in the fight.

If White accepts the terms of Jones, then Werdum would have to be stripped of his belt citing the reason of not accepting the fight against Miocic. But it is highly unlikely that UFC would strip Werdum of his belt. In this situation then, the search for Miocic’s opponent continues.

Meanwhile, Josh Barnett too has expressed his willingness to fight Miocic. Barnett who is scheduled to fight Ben Rothwell in the co-main event of UFC on FOX 18 on Saturday in Newark said that he is willing to fight Miocic if the UFC wants. However, Barnett is of the opinion that Werdum should have come up with a better excuse plan for withdrawing from the fight.
