English Premier League (EPL) club Liverpool are weighing up a move to bring in Udinese midfielder Piotr Zielinski to Anfield.
Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp is reportedly interested in the player. Zielinski lines up as another name in a host of other midfielders linked to Liverpool this January.
The 21-year-old Zielinski is on loan at Italian club Empoli this season. He has caught the eye of several European heavyweights with some amazing performances.
Klopp is looking to shell out £11 million (US $15.80 million) for the central midfielder and wants the Polish star at Anfield this January, according to Goal.com.
Zielinski on the other hand wants to stay in Italy until the end of the season. He will prefer a move to the Merseyside club in the upcoming summer. Zielinski does not want to jeopardize his place in the Poland squad for the upcoming Euro 2016.
Liverpool are prepared to wait until summer in order to capture the player. However, they are aware that good performances in the European Championship will only inflate the price of the player.
Seria A giants Juventus and Napoli are also monitoring the movement of the player and are reportedly interested in his signature. Zielinski has 11 international caps under his belt.
Liverpool will want to add the Polish midfielder to their lineup considering the uncertain future of Joe Allen.
Allen has been linked with a move back to Wales with Swansea City. The Welshman has recently been a Liverpool hero after firing the Reds into the Capital One Cup final.
It has to be noted that Allen has featured in Liverpool’s starting XI just once since Klopp has taken over from Brendon Rodgers, last October.
Zielinski’s club Udinese is owned by the Pozzo family who are also the owners of the Premier League club and Liverpool’s rivals Watford.
